Weather router
Marine Weather Intelligence (MWI) is a deep tech start-up that specialises in marine weather. We use AI to optimise routes, improve weather forecasts and enhance safety at sea, thereby supporting the decarbonisation of maritime transport. We develop weather routing and forecasting software as a service (SaaS) solutions. Designed for a wide range of maritime operations, our tools support cargo ships, heavy lift vessels, towing operations, superyachts, pleasure craft, offshore wind farms, oil and gas rigs, and ports. Our solutions are built on in-house R&D and collaborations with leading research institutions and partners, such as Ifremer and the ESA (European Spatial Agency). This ensures that our solutions are innovative and tailored to each market. MWI has a dedicated team of 18 people based in Brittany.Since its foundation in 2023, the company has grown rapidly and now requires a weather router to enable it to expand further.
About the role
At MWI, we are expanding our weather routing team to meet growing client demand. As a Senior Weather Router, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, delivering expert routing guidance, managing their requests with professionalism and ensuring their full satisfaction throughout every passage.
Main activities
Weather routing & client advisory
- Develop optimised routes for towing operations, heavy lifts, offshore operations, commercial vessels and yachts.
- Deliver clear, actionable weather briefings directly to clients
- Be the primary point of contact: handle requests, answer questions, anticipate needs
- Ensure full client satisfaction through proactive communication and timely follow‑up
Daily weather operations
- Monitor and track vessels en route
- Produce daily weather and routing reports for running operations
- Issue updated recommendations in response to evolving meteorological situations
Client relationship management
- Contribute to the onboarding of new clients and long-term relationship building
- Maintain high standards of responsiveness and reliability in all client interactions
- Collect and elevate client feedback to improve MWI's services and products
- Participate in the development of routing tools and processes
- Share expertise and help structure operational knowledge within the team
Required Profile
- Professional experience in weather routing or maritime meteorology
- Proven client-facing experience : ability to manage, communicate with, and satisfy demanding clients
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Solid knowledge of meteorological models and routing software
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple routing files simultaneously, and make timely decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills‑able to produce clear, professional reports and briefings
- Strong sense of responsibility, autonomy, and client service orientation
- Experience with racing sailboats, superyachts or offshore towing operations is highly valued
Management
You will work alongside Christian DUMARD (CEO and Weather Router) and the MWI routing team as a key member of the weather and client operations team.
Practical information

- Salary: To be determined in interview, according to experience
- Location: MWI offices are in Auray in Brittany (56) France. If you are a nautical sport enthusiast, Auray is ideally located to go surfing, kiting or sailing in the Bay of Quiberon or around the peninsula.
- It is preferable to have your own transport
- Home office: The team favours face‑to‑face work at least 3 days a week and home office is possible for the other days. To be defined during the interview.
