ERP Tribe team at Shine

The VP of Engineering, ERP Tribe reports to the Senior VP of Product & Tech and is responsible for leading and developing the engineering function within the ERP Tribe. The role ensures that the Tribe's technology organisation, systems and delivery practices support the Company's strategic, product and regulatory objectives.

The VP owns the Tribe's engineering outcomes, governance and talent.

Your role as a VP of Engineering

  • Providing leadership, direction and coaching to the ERP Tribe engineering team, fostering trust, accountability and effective collaboration.
  • Defining and implementing an appropriate engineering organisation structure, operating model and resource plan for the Tribe.
  • Improving the predictability, transparency and quality of software delivery, including project communication and technical documentation.
  • Assessing and strengthening engineering operations, including incident management, monitoring, alerting, reliability, security and technical risk management.
  • Building effective working relationships with Product, Compliance, Risk, Security and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring engineering decisions and practices appropriately reflect the Company's ERP, regulatory and risk‑management requirements.
  • Contributing to the Company's global engineering strategy and advising senior leadership on technology priorities, investment and organisational development.
  • Supporting the recruitment, retention and development of a high‑performing engineering organisation.
  • Driving the adoption of AI‑augmented engineering practices across the Tribe — setting standards for AI‑assisted development, code quality and review, and ensuring AI usage is safe, auditable and appropriate for a regulated ERP environment.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Job located in Portugal, Porto or France, Paris → with possibility of two remote working days per week

About You

  • 10+ years in software engineering with progressive leadership experience, including managing managers/Directors at scale.
  • Proven track record of AI‑augmented engineering: hands‑on experience with AI coding assistants and agentic tools in a production setting, and the judgment to set governance, quality bars and guardrails for their use — not just individual usage.
  • Genuine appetite for AI as a lever for engineering productivity and delivery quality; expected to actively shape how the Tribe adopts AI, not merely permit it.
  • Experience in a regulated or compliance‑heavy environment (banking, ERP, fintech) is a strong plus.
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and technical‑literacy level: able to challenge a Principal Engineer's reasoning without doing their job.

Equal Opportunity Employer

We follow the principle of equal treatment to consider all job applicants and do not discriminate based on their gender, sexual orientation, color, racial or ethnic origin, religion, disability, etc. as per applicable law.
