Vision Systems - Engineering Manager France

Overview

The Vision Systems - Engineering Manager France is responsible for developing new products, services, or technologies. The jobholder will be responsible for the technical, functional, and financial management of projects. Independently handles key projects, manages the engineering team's daily tasks, and ensures timely progress. Meets with customers to understand and anticipate their needs, driving innovative solutions in technology, cost, and quality.

Your responsibility areas

Your responsibility areas will be:

• Management: Managing the department and coordinating the various tasks of the teams. Oversee all projects in respected scope, managing project execution. Monitor operation data, meet KPI target and resource allocation effectively. Take part in the integration of new employees and train new team members, setting individual objectives and evaluating the performance. Lead individual and group meetings.
• Customers: Lead working groups to address customer issues, visiting customers and building and supplying the supplier panel (internal and external prospecting)
• New products: Defining the product strategy. Organising and leading the development and innovation monitoring committee. Lead brainstorming sessions on technical solutions.
• Current products: Be the technical guarantor of series products. Develop the patent portfolio. Benchmarking and competitive analysis as well as engineering experts’ team central contact for quality support
• Prototype Coordination: Oversee the coordination of prototype manufacturing, including the scheduling and management of incoming inspections.
• Finance: Prepare research tax credit applications and present them. Make proposals to maintain or improve margins on in-house products. Consolidate R&D, innovation, and laboratory budgets in accordance with Group rules and submit them to line management. Adjust and update the personnel costs budget and inform line management. Ensure adherence to the budget.

Our requirements

• University degree of professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Extensive relevant experience of ideally more than ten years in the automotive environment on similar roles
• In-depth knowledge of optics in the automotive sector
• Proficiency in mechatronics
• General knowledge of injection and stamping/cutting processes
• Fluency in both French and English is required to effectively communicate in our multinational environment and with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel for 20% of working hours or above
• Highly skilled in team leadership techniques, communication and customer relationship management
