Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Underground Drilling
Sandvik Mining is a global leader in equipment, tools, parts, services, and digital solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries. Its offering spans the entire value chain, from rock drilling and cutting to loading, hauling, tunnelling and ground support. The Underground Drilling Division is focused on providing industry‑leading drilling solutions within underground mining and tunnelling, collaborating closely with sales areas and other Sandvik Mining divisions to deliver strong customer value and safety.
The role is based in either Tampere (Finland) or Lyon (France) and reports to the President of the Underground Drilling Division. It is a key member of the Division Management Team.
Your Mission
As Vice President, Sales & Marketing, you lead the commercial agenda for the Underground Drilling division, ensuring strong alignment between strategy, customer needs, and business performance. You are accountable for driving profitable growth, strengthening our market position, and ensuring consistent execution across all markets.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the sales and marketing strategy to drive growth and profitability
- Strengthen customer relationships with our 14 sales areas, ensuring a high‑value customer experience
- Drive commercial excellence, including pricing, value selling, demand forecasting, and sales capability development
- Collaborate closely with other Sandvik Mining divisions to ensure commercial alignment towards customers
- Identify and capture growth opportunities in automation, digitalisation and electrification
- Drive market intelligence activities, including analysis of market share, competitor performance and customer insights
- Build and lead a high‑performing sales and marketing organization, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Engage with key customers, partners and stakeholders across the industry
Your Background and What We Value
You are a senior commercial leader with extensive experience in B2B sales, product management or related commercial roles, preferably within heavy machinery or industrial environments. Mining industry experience is a strong advantage. You have a proven track record of driving profitable growth through close customer engagement and collaboration, thrive in an international environment, and possess strong communication, presentation and leadership skills. You inspire people through coaching and mentoring, lead by example, foster a culture of trust, accountability and teamwork, and consistently demonstrate Sandvik’s core values of Responsibility, Customer Focus, Winning Together and Curiosity. Excellent proficiency in English is required. The role includes global travel.
