Seeking a Venture Manager to help support deep tech startups with their business challenges within the Deep Tech Center of HEC Paris Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute
Your primary role will involve working in collaboration with the venture managers team to support startups through regular touchpoints, leveraging mentors, and preparing founders for working sessions

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute has been created to enhance the school’s mission and impact on society by supporting entrepreneurs through all their challenges.
Within the Institute, the Deep Tech Center focuses on deeptech entrepreneurship, supporting scientific and technical founders with their business challenges.
The CDL-Paris is a joint initiative of HEC Paris and Creative Destruction Lab, currently supporting technical founders from all over the world participating in one of the following programs: Climate technologies , Space , Artificial Intelligence , and Next-Gen Computing (with more to come!).
Role and responsibilities
Working alongside the Ventures & Science Applications team, the Venture Manager is responsible for startup recruitment, founders support, and program resources development.
General duties
Ventures Recruitment & Selection
- Build a pipeline of startup prospects and convert leads to applications;
- Technical due diligence for early‑stage science and engineering‑based ventures that apply for the program;
- Interview companies and recommend program acceptance.
Ecosystem Building
- Identification and relationship building with centers of innovation in the ecosystem; including Universities, venture capital funds, incubators & accelerators, and tech associations;
- Attend startup events, conferences, and meetups relevant to the various programs.
Venture management
- Founders relationship: provide business development support to a group of ventures, and nurture program alumni;
- Stakeholders relationship: acts as a coordinator between ventures, advisors, scientists, and students.
Profile
- Scientific, technological, or engineering background;
- Strong analytical ability and understanding of technologies and applications over several fields;
- Passionate about creative applications of emerging technologies;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Work experience working with startups, technology companies, or venture capital is an asset;
- Experience with Airtable and Salesforce is an asset;
- Comfortable in working in a very international environment.
