Job Title: University Work Study

Do you go to a local university and have work-study as part of your financial aid package? Want to work at a local nonprofit and make a difference in your community? LCM work-study students greet visitors at the front desk and work behind the scenes with our staff to maintain our exhibits, develop our programming, and guarantee excellent customer service. Primary Responsibilities Include

• Welcoming and orienting guests to the museum and running the register
• Answering phone inquiries and providing basic customer service
• Monitoring the exhibit floor for organization, cleanliness, and safety; resetting exhibits; notifying the manager on duty of any problems or concerns
• Assisting with programs and activities, including research, development, preparation, and implementation
• Facilitating guest exploration within various exhibit spaces
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures, including daily cleaning

Role Requirements

• Ability to communicate efficiently with other staff members through multiple mediums including but not limited to email, Google Drive documents, and face to face meetings.
• Ability to fulfill scheduled shifts and assist with at least one special event and one evening event per semester.
• Ability to properly utilize Google Drive & Microsoft programs (Powerpoint, Excel).
• Experience working with children.
• If over 18, completion of all security clearances required to work with children before beginning work.
