Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Management, Economics, Politics, International Relations, or related field
• First-level degree acceptable with four additional years of relevant experience

Experience:

1. At least 5 years professional experience in climate change, air pollution, sustainable development, or environment and health fields
2. Experience in technical assistance, project management, and policy development
3. Proven ability to conduct technical research in finance, climate change, and air quality
4. Knowledge of global climate and air quality finance and funding mechanisms
5. Strong written and oral communication skills
6. Good understanding of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs)

The UNEP-hosted CCAC Secretariat leads global efforts to integrate climate and clean air solutions through its flagship initiatives. The Clean Air Flagship aims to mobilize governments, financial institutions, and civil society towards clean air goals aligned with climate resilience.

Job Description

1. Conduct an opportunity analysis of global funding streams relevant to clean air projects
2. Build a bank of fundable projects aligned with air quality improvements
3. Develop strategies for linking funding and financing, including engaging Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs)
4. Manage stakeholder engagement, communication material preparation, and support key events (e.g., LCAW, UNEA-7)
