Role Purpose
To provide administrative and technical support to the underwriting team as required, maintaining files and processing business accounts accurately and in a timely manner on the Company’s IT and administrative systems in accordance with processing standards and procedures, and assisting the team with day‑to‑day ad hoc tasks such as risk research, broker meetings, and country overview reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Input
- Enter submissions, rating models, quotes and bound policies onto the Arch underwriting systems
- Conduct account clearance procedures with other parts of the company for risks or clashes, as may be required, including catastrophe analysts, risk capture and data management teams
- Review quality control output from Global Services and liaise with them to ensure timely account processing
- Account Administration
- Assist the Underwriters with day‑to‑day underwriting operations
- Assist in preparation of monthly and management reports
- Undertake research activities for additional underwriting information from the Internet or other external sources as directed by underwriters
- Maintain appropriate business activity logs to record submission or premium activity
- Prepare Standard policy documentation for underwriters’ sign‑off reports
- Account Query Resolution
- Assist in resolving outstanding premium receivable issues as directed
- Liaise with brokers on any outstanding information requirements
- Resolve weekly processing reports
- General Administration
- File preparation, photocopying, scanning, and document management
- Maintain daily contact with back‑office support staff, e.g., binder management team, finance and compliance
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails
Role Requirements
Skills / Competencies
- Strong time‑management skills
- Very organised and systematic
- Responsive
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to work independently using initiative and without guidance, as well as part of a team
Qualifications
- English spoken and written, B1‑B2 or equivalent
Experience
- Basic knowledge of insurance preferred but not essential
- 12 months of previous office experience advantageous
