Treaty Underwriter
This role contributes to the P&C treaty portfolio development and profitability in line with SCOR underwriting strategy in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, with a strong focus on building and maintaining key client and broker relationships, by assisting the market managers and the senior underwriters.
Responsibilities
Under the authority of the market managers and in connection with the senior underwriters, you will be asked to:
Follow and assist in building and maintaining a profitable portfolio in accordance with the Treaty underwriting guidelines
Contribute to marketing the Treaty P&C capabilities, products and services to Brokers and Ceding companies
Report regularly on accounts and marketing activity
Ensure administrative data completeness and supervise the administration of the OMEGA back-office tool (in liaison with the Technical Assistants) in relation to new or existing accounts
Price with in-house Pricing Tool (X-act) in accordance with the delegated authority.
Main Activities
- Underwrite Treaty P&C Lines in accordance with the Underwriting Guidelines and Plan deriving from the Strategic Plan;
- Assist in identifying new business targets in order to develop a profitable portfolio for SCOR P&C
- Build and maintain relationships with ceding companies and their reinsurance brokers
- Assist the commercial visits
- Promote SCOR to our customers by using the communication and marketing products (seminars, forums, materials etc).
- Work in close cooperation and coordination with colleagues in the Treaty and CUO’s network
- Analyse the Treaty portfolio paying attention to profitability
- Contribute to treaty wording design, control and signature
- Responsibly manage data recorded in our information systems to give an accurate representation of the risks subscribed and to allow portfolio analysis
- Regularly interact with our actuarial and claims teams to inform the underwriting process
- Participate in the elaboration of the underwriting plan
Assist in validating contracts, endorsements or special acceptances, and monitoring and coordinating claims.
Qualifications
Required experience & competencies
2-3 years in a Reinsurance Company, Reinsurance department of an Insurance Company or Reinsurance Broker.

- Being fluent in a language spoken specifically in the MEA region is appreciated
- Expertise in main Office softwares, availability to learn and master main SCOR tools (Omega, xAct, RUP, Tableau, Peak, etc.)
Required Education
- University Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Law or equivalent experience
