As Translational Project Lead Biostatistician within our Vaccines Biostatistical Sciences team, you are the ultimate scientific owner of all statistical translational deliverables for your assigned project(s), bringing your quantitative passion to a sub‑team consisting of translational strategic experts, biomarker lab scientists, immunology leads and research experts. This role is critical to our team’s success and offers exposure to a broad range of activities within biostatistics, programming and a broad range of stakeholders.
Job Summary
Assume responsibility for the statistical and methodological aspects as well as delivery of translational activities for assigned project(s). Provide critical inputs into the vaccine project(s) integrated translational plan, on the design of experiments and the translational analysis (including multi‑dimensional biomarkers) so that accurate assessments are made for addressing fundamental translational questions and de‑risk our vaccine projects.
Main responsibilities
- Accountable for all statistical contributions to the integrated translational strategy developed in collaboration with translational and clinical development strategic experts, lead immunologist and other stakeholders for the assigned vaccine project(s).
- Deliver translational statistical activities for the assigned project(s), with shared resources.
- Prepare translational statistical analysis plan, analyze study databases (including multiple panels of translational readouts) and perform integrated cross‑trial analyses.
- Provide statistical guidance on exploratory assay development in collaboration with internal and external labs, ensuring consistency across different labs.
- Ensure compliance with related standard operating procedures and department standards.
- Develop translational study reports with the translational study team and clinical medical writers.
- Conduct research on biomarker analyses and collaborate with key stakeholders on manuscript and publication support.
- Promote teamwork, quality, operational efficiency and innovation.
- Utilize AI technologies to improve productivity while ensuring quality through the development and delivery of automated statistical tools.
Required Qualifications
- Established extensive experience in industry or institution working in translational medicine or a related field.
- Strong methodological and computing skills with R expertise (required), proficiency in Python and/or SAS (a plus). Comprehensive knowledge in applying advanced statistical methods (e.g., Bayesian statistics, linear and non‑linear modelling, machine‑learning methods) and able to conduct original research and simulations independently. Record of publications.
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical mindset and project management skills; proven interpersonal relationships and communication skills. Ability to influence across functions in a global environment and drive organizational change.
- PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science or related discipline; or Master with more working experience.
- Digital acumen: ability to implement automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Fluent in English (required), French for on‑site collaboration.
