This role keeps our books clean, accurate, and on time. You'll be the person who ensures every transaction is recorded, reconciled, and understood so that our financial statements can be trusted and we meet all internal, IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Record day‑to‑day operations and transactions in the accounting systems, ensuring compliance with group policies, IFRS and local GAAP, tax and legal requirements.
- Monitor and validate data flows from feeder systems into the accounting systems, investigating and resolving issues so that postings are complete and accurate.
- Clear open items on balance sheet accounts, ensuring all open balances are justified, documented and followed up.
- Perform and document bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies between bank statements and the general ledger.
- Review accounting journals to finalise monthly results, identifying errors or inconsistencies and coordinating corrections ahead of closing deadlines.
- Support external audits by preparing requested documentation, explaining balances and movements, and helping to close any audit findings.
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insight responsibly and in line with data governance, security and ethical use standards.
Qualifications
- Solid accounting knowledge, with experience applying IFRS and/or local GAAP in a transactional accounting role, so you can post correctly and spot issues in the ledgers.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP (or a comparable ERP), including working with feeder systems and large data volumes, to manage postings and reconciliations efficiently.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesise and structure large amounts of data into clear, simple outputs that support accurate reporting and audit readiness.
- Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines, especially around month‑end and audits, taking ownership of your accounts and following through on open items.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working with colleagues from different functions and cultures to resolve issues and explain accounting impacts.
- Openness to learning and improving how things are done, including using new tools and technologies to make processes more efficient and robust.
We therefore welcome applications regardless of ethnicity or cultural background, age, gender, nationality, religion, social class, disability or sexual orientation, or any other characteristics protected under applicable local laws and regulations.
