Trade Compliance Officer - France
In collaboration with Quest Executive Search, Get Hunted is supporting Comrod France in the recruitment of a Trade Compliance Officer. This is a key local compliance role reporting directly to the CEO of Comrod France and working closely with Group Compliance and international stakeholders.

About the Role
We are seeking a structured and proactive Local Compliance Officer (LCO) to support Comrod France in the implementation of the Group’s compliance framework, with a primary focus on export controls, sanctions, and third-party due diligence .
You will play a key role in ensuring that all business activities are conducted in line with applicable regulations and internal procedures, and act as a trusted advisor to the local organisation on compliance matters .
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the effective implementation and day-to-day application of Comrod Group’s compliance policies, procedures, and checklists
- Maintain compliance records and documentation
- Review and assess transactions, including sales, technology transfers, and purchasing/procurement, in line with export control requirements and internal processes
- Take ownership of the follow-up and documentation of export-controlled parts and materials throughout the purchasing and supply chain process
- Conduct risk-based due diligence on customers, partners, suppliers and end-users, including screening and documentation of findings
- Identify potential compliance risks and escalate red flags to local management and Group Compliance as appropriate
- Prepare clear and structured compliance assessments and summaries to support decision-making
- Support training and awareness initiatives to strengthen compliance culture within the organisation
- Act as the primary local point of contact for compliance-related queries
- Support licensing applications and liaise with external advisors and governmental authorities on compliance matters
- Take ownership of compliance matters within the local jurisdiction
- Support with contract negotiations and customer dialogue regarding compliance as applicable
- Provide support on general and commercial legal matters when needed, including terms and conditions, contracts, and other related agreements
- Strengthen trade compliance awareness across French business and operational teams by providing ongoing guidance and specialized training.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, export controls, or related fields, preferably within the defence sector
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and due diligence processes
- Structured, analytical, and detail-oriented approach
- High level of integrity and sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across functions
- Fluency in French and English is required to support effective communication between local operations and global headquarters.
