Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales targets, increase market share and profitability.
  • Set and follow up an action plan aligned with the strategy to achieve goals.
  • Collaborate with teammates to ensure effective communication and coordinated efforts.
  • Engage with customers and accounts daily to present Merit products and explain their benefits.
  • Identify potential customers and introduce them to Merit products.
  • Maintain customer contacts to monitor satisfaction, address concerns and provide solutions.
  • Prepare and submit pricing contracts to customers for products.
  • Make decisions within approved authorization limits regarding product pricing to optimize sales volume and profitability.
  • Implement sales and marketing strategies in the territory.
  • Enter and follow up on sales opportunities and customer information in the CRM.
  • Coordinate with other departments to stay informed about new products and provide customer feedback on product needs and potential innovations.
  • Prepare and submit reports to Regional Sales Manager (RSM) when needed.
  • Prepare and present a resume of activity on a regular basis.
  • Participate in sales training and planning meetings to learn about new products and promotions.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about Merit and competitor products and their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Maintain knowledge of the clinical environment and clinical studies.
  • Participate in industry or promotional events (e.g., trade shows, workshops) and sales meetings.
  • Manage consignments on a regular basis.
  • Travel by car, train, airplane, etc., to perform sales duties with customers.
  • Perform other sales-related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Education and experience equivalent to a related Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of three years of direct sales experience, preferably in selling medical devices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in French and English with and to understand the needs of others in a sales relationship.
  • A high degree of personal motivation and drive to achieve personal and professional goals.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and the ability to think quickly to apply facts in analyzing problems and explain the answer to a group of medical technicians and clinicians.
  • Ability to learn the usage of medical equipment and to identify and explain possible improvements in usage.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member to achieve organizational goals.
  • Ability to utilize business mathematics to figure percentages and prepare financial and sales information.
  • A high degree of personal organization skills, including the ability to record and report information and to document work performed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work long hours to achieve goals, as required.
  • Excellent driving record with no driving accidents in the past three years or no more than one driving ticket in the last three years.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs.
  • Fluent in French and English.
