YOUR ROLE
You will be a staff member of the “Ships & People” team, part of the Shipping Law Department, responsible for handling litigations, drafting legal documents (contracts, acts, memos, etc.), and protecting owner liability risks related to casualties, damage to hull and machinery, crew work‑related accidents or illnesses.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide operational and commercial teams with legal advice and expertise regarding risks that may affect the owner.
Draft legal acts such as contracts and notices, implement remedies and recoveries against insurers or third parties, and negotiate liability cases/claims within the authorities granted by top management.
Monitor jurisprudence, case law and ad hoc regulations, and manage legal cases in close association with lawyers, solicitors, surveyors, and other stakeholders.
Maintain data and reporting related to legal matters.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A postgraduate degree in Law (preferably shipping, insurance, international trade). Fluency in written and spoken English, and good command of office and IT tools.
Strong interpersonal skills to cooperate with internal departments and external parties (lawyers, bailiffs, insurers, clients, suppliers).
Rigorous, responsive, and capable of analysis and synthesis to best defend the Group' interests.
