Team
The Search team delivers the right information to the right person at the right time. It continuously improves the search and information classification experience within the product using both internal and third‑party engines. The team consists of a Product Manager, 4 Backend Engineers, one Frontend Engineer, and a UX Designer.
Responsibilities
- Shape the future of the product by thinking ahead about the search engine’s evolution and integrating new sources of knowledge.
- Define features, design APIs and the underlying data model, and implement business logic for various functionalities.
- Act as a proactive partner for API consumers, especially our web and mobile applications.
- Optimize performance and collaborate closely with other team members (pair programming, design discussions, technical decision‑making, Scrum ceremonies).
Tech Stack
Primary search engine based on Elasticsearch with PostgreSQL and message queues on a Kubernetes‑based infrastructure. The codebase is primarily written in Python and Go, and we integrate external search engines to provide a comprehensive experience.
Skills
- 5 years of significant experience in Backend development, including experience with Elasticsearch.
- Initial solid experience with Python and Go.
- Ability to adapt in a fast‑evolving environment, with a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to learn from mistakes.
- Established working habits and openness to sharing and promoting them within the team.
- A favorite pastry—and the ability to explain why.
- Familiarity with modern development practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD, version control, etc.).
- Knowledge of search relevance.
- Strong written and spoken English skills.
