Team

The Search team aims to deliver the right information to the right person at the right time. To achieve this, we continuously improve the search and information classification experience within the product.

We rely on both our internal search engine and third‑party engines to provide an immersive experience to our users.

The team consists of a Product Manager, 4 Backend Engineers, one Frontend Engineer and a UX Designer.

Missions

Your Responsibilities: Shaping the future of the product is a key responsibility for Search engineers. This includes thinking ahead about the product’s evolution, improving the relevancy of the search engine and the integration of other sources of knowledge.

On a daily basis, a team engineer contributes to the following:

• Defining features, designing APIs and the underlying data model, implementing business logic for various functionalities.
• Acting as a proactive partner for API consumers, especially our web and mobile applications.
• Optimization: Working closely with other team members (pair programming, design discussions, technical decision‑making, Scrum ceremonies).

Tech Stack: LumApps’ primary search engine is based on Elasticsearch. We also use PostgreSQL and message queues, all within a Kubernetes‑based infrastructure. The codebase is primarily written in Python and Go. In addition to Elasticsearch, we integrate external search engines to provide a more comprehensive experience and allow more clients to integrate with their existing environments.

Skills

• We are looking for a curious, engaged team player who is eager to help others.

• 5 years of significant experience in Backend development, including experience with Elasticsearch .

• Initial solid experience with Python and Go.

• Ability to adapt in a fast‑evolving environment, with a continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to learn from mistakes.

• Established working habits and openness to sharing and promoting them within the team.

• A favourite pastry—and the ability to explain why.

• Familiarity with modern development practices (testing, code reviews, CI/CD, version control, etc.).

• Knowledge for search relevance.

• Strong written and spoken English skills.
