Job Overview

We are hiring a Desktop Technician (m/f/d) to join Jon’s team at MKS INSTRUMENTS. The position is based in Beaune La Rolande, France, and covers the geographic region of Beaune La Rolande, Saint Ouen L’aumône, and Brigueuil. The role provides IT support to internal and external customers within the assigned area.

Responsibilities

• Support all MKS applications while adhering to established SLAs.
• Act as the reference point for the Help Desk application and ensure all activities, including phone calls, are documented.
• Work with global Field Services, applications and infrastructure teams to identify, analyze and resolve IT issues promptly.
• Participate in IT projects directed by the IT Field Services Manager.
• Manage IT vendors (local, regional or global) and control costs, including creation of purchase requisitions.
• Respond to customer requests for assistance professionally and provide timely status updates within SLAs.
• Identify, troubleshoot, repair software and hardware errors and problems.
• Diagnose and meticulously document reported problems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on computers, telephones, printers, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
• Ensure local area network, wireless and VPN access and resolve network connectivity issues.
• Manage IT asset inventory, ensuring compliance with MKS standards.
• Conduct IT onboarding activities for new employees.
• Provide office and workstation setup and relocation support.
• Train customers on new and existing applications.
• Travel as needed to support all sites in the assigned geographic area.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in IT technical support.
• Full professional proficiency in English and French (both reading and speaking).
• Strong communication skills, oral and written.
• Excellent customer service orientation.
• Proven track record of collaborating on projects and strong interpersonal skills.
