Scope of work

We are looking for a #SURF Technical Director to join a leading engineering team in the Oil & Gas sector. Acting as a manager within the Riser Systems department, you will be responsible for technical oversight, team development, and support from bidding phase through project execution. The role also involves contributing to business development and ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver projects, ensuring compliance with QMS standards, deadlines, and budget.
• Oversee commercial and project control aspects.
• Lead and develop the local technical team, fostering skills growth and best practices.
• Ensure administration of the Paris office and compliance with company policies, QMS, and HSE requirements.
• Support sales and business development activities, including PRPs and CTRs.
• Collaborate with colleagues in regional offices to share and implement best practices.
• Maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Profile

• Around 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy, including at least 5 years in subsea riser design.
• Engineering degree, preferably in solid or fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in riser design software (OrcaFlex, Flexcom, Deeplines, SHEAR7) and good knowledge of Python.
• Strong technical background in solid mechanics, hydrodynamics, wave modelling, and naval architecture (RAOs).
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead teams in an international environment.
• Fluency in French and English, strong organizational and communication skills, and ability to work under pressure with autonomy and rigor.
