Accelerating its daring journey, Kyutai is now seeking outstanding researchers to develop impact-driven projects in fields like generative modeling for language and speech, video understanding, and world models.
Kyutai is a non-profit lab dedicated to open research in Artificial Intelligence. Our team is laser-focused on few, high-impact projects in frontier AI. Less than 2 years after its start, Kyutai has already delivered several ground-breaking models: Moshi, the first full‑duplex voice AI allowing natural spoken dialogue with latency under 200ms and no imposed speaker turns; Helium‑1, a very compact and powerful multi‑lingual open language model; Hibiki, the first voice‑to‑voice simultaneous translation model that preserves voice and can run on a mobile; MoshiVis, the first visual‑speech model to allow natural spoken dialogue around visual content; Unmute, a voice AI that empowers any text LLM with voice, instantly, by wrapping it with Kyutai's streaming speech‑to‑text and text‑to‑speech.

Your Missions
- Contribute directly to the research done at Kyutai
- Publish reproducible research with models and code
- Create demos to showcase our models' capabilities
- Mentor interns and PhD students
- Contribute to Kyutai’s external visibility
About You
- Hands‑on experience with multi‑GPU model training and large‑scale cluster
- Experience in one or several fields related to Kyutai's areas of research (speech modelling, efficient LLMs, video understanding, world models, etc.)
- A PhD in an ML‑adjacent field or 4+ years of experience in ML engineering positions
- Key contributions to impactful projects
- Extreme focus and dedication
- A taste for autonomous research and curiosity‑driven exploration
