Looking to take your technical sales experience into a European role focused on water quality, microbiological control and the food & beverage industry?
Influx Search is again partnered with a fast-growing European water technology company developing real-time microbiological monitoring solutions that help customers improve process control, strengthen quality assurance and reduce operational risk.
The business is expanding its commercial team and is looking for a Technical Sales Manager to accelerate adoption across food & beverage customers throughout Europe, working both directly with strategic accounts and through specialist channel partners.
What’s the role?
As Technical Sales Manager - Food & Beverage, you will own the commercial development of key accounts and partners across the European food & beverage market.
This is a consultative technical sales role. You will work with customer technical teams to understand water-quality and microbiological monitoring needs, position the technology within operational workflows, and support projects from early application discussions and pilots through to implementation and long-term adoption.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and growing strategic food & beverage accounts across Europe, building long-term relationships and expanding the installed base.
- Generating new business directly and through distributors and integrators, with clear ownership of pipeline quality and commercial performance.
- Identifying larger strategic projects and engaging with customers early in the project-design process.
- Translating real-time microbiological monitoring capabilities into clear benefits around quality control, process visibility, operational efficiency and risk reduction.
- Acting as a trusted technical advisor to customer teams, helping define applications and ensuring proposed solutions fit the operating environment.
- Training channel partners, customer-facing teams and end users on product positioning, demonstrations, application, solution design and pricing.
- Driving technology adoption after installation so instruments are actively used, embedded in customer processes and delivering measurable value.
- Identifying successful customer applications and working with marketing to turn these into reference cases, application notes and repeatable sales tools.
- Sharing market feedback and identifying new applications or product features that can strengthen the company’s position within food & beverage.
The position carries a European remit, with the exact geographical focus shaped around the successful candidate’s experience and network. Travel will be required to develop customers, partners and projects across the region.
What’s on offer?
You will be joining a scale-up environment where commercial ownership, technical credibility and customer impact are closely connected. The role offers the opportunity to shape growth in a strategically important market while working with a differentiated real-time monitoring technology.
You will have the scope to influence go-to-market strategy, help create referenceable customer success stories and contribute directly to product and application development as the business scales.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a technically minded commercial professional who can build credibility with food & beverage customers and turn complex monitoring capabilities into practical operational value.
Ideally, you will have:
- Significant commercial or technical experience within food & beverage processing, water quality, process monitoring or a closely related industrial environment.
- A strong understanding of water treatment, water quality and/or microbiological monitoring principles.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation, sensor-based technologies or online monitoring solutions.
- Experience selling complex technical solutions in B2B industrial environments, including long sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to interpret technical data and explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical decision-makers.
- Strong customer engagement, relationship-building and channel-management skills.
- Excellent English; French and/or German would be advantageous, with other European languages also valuable.
- A curious, structured and resilient approach, with the adaptability to work effectively in an evolving scale-up environment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with strategic account development and market creation.
