Technical Sales Manager – Coatings

We are partnering with a leading specialty chemicals distributor to appoint a Technical Sales Manager focused on the Coatings market across France. This is a high-impact, client-facing role combining technical expertise with commercial ownership , working with a portfolio of global principals and regional customers.

You will take ownership of a defined territory, driving revenue growth, developing strategic accounts, and positioning innovative raw materials into key coatings manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of coatings customers (industrial, decorative, and specialty coatings)
  • Identify and win new business opportunities across France
  • Provide technical consultation on raw materials (resins, additives, pigments, binders, etc.)
  • Work closely with supplier partners to align on product strategy and market positioning
  • Lead commercial negotiations, pricing strategy, and margin management
  • Support customers with formulation challenges alongside internal technical teams
  • Track market trends, competitor activity, and customer pipelines
  • Deliver against revenue and profitability targets

Your Profile

  • Proven experience in technical sales within coatings, adhesives, or specialty chemicals
  • Strong knowledge of coatings formulations (e.g. resins, additives, pigments, dispersions)
  • Commercially driven with a track record of winning and growing accounts
  • Ability to operate at both technical and commercial levels
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Degree qualified in Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field (preferred)
  • Comfortable working autonomously within a high-performance sales culture
