Our client is a private specialty chemical company based in the Rhône-Alpes region of France with a strong international presence across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. They are a global leader in the production of water-soluble polymers with a broad product range that supports natural resource preservation, recycling, and improved industrial process efficiency. Their products serve markets involving water use such as potable water production, wastewater treatment, sludge dewatering, oil and gas extraction, mining, agriculture, and manufacturing industries including paper, textiles, and cosmetics.

Role

Technical Sales Engineer with an engineering background in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering to join our team. Your main focus will be on selling and supporting equipment used in the mining industry, especially systems for mineral processing. This role is a great opportunity to grow business by offering technical expertise and building strong client relationships.

Key Context

  • Experience in the mining industry is highly desired.
  • The role is a corporate executive position without management responsibilities.
  • The position reports directly to the BU Oil and Gas, with plans to expand into the paper industry sector.
  • There is no promotion path associated with this role.
  • Working hours are based on the French “forfait jour” system (flexible annual working days).
  • The client is open to candidates requiring work permits or residence permits, subject to specific conditions.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop sales of equipment like preparation, dosing, and injection systems tailored for mining applications
  • Collaborate with chemical sales teams to offer bundled solutions
  • Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions with engineering support
  • Prepare and participate in tender processes to submit competitive and accurate proposals
  • Maintain client relationships via technical support, site visits, and troubleshooting
  • Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitor technologies, and evolving customer needs
  • Report market opportunities and project developments to management

Who You Are

  • You have an engineering degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering
  • You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales or engineering, preferably in the mining sector
  • Fluent in English and either French or Spanish (Spanish is a plus)
  • Comfortable with international travel (30–50%)
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proactive, organized, and able to work in a multicultural environment
