Technical Sales Engineer – HVAC Comfort (France)
This position is highly application-oriented and suited to candidates who understand how HVAC products are integrated into customer systems and commercial applications.
The role combines technical expertise, customer engagement, remote support, and onsite technical consultation with strategic OEM and end‑user accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central technical contact between OEM R&D teams and internal engineering teams during new product development activities
- Support customers during specification, design, and equipment selection processes
- Provide technical expertise on HVAC comfort applications and system integration
- Deliver technical product demonstrations and support technical discussions throughout the sales cycle
- Provide remote and onsite technical support throughout the product lifecycle
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and field application activities when required
- Create and maintain high‑quality technical documentation supporting field applications
- Visit and support key customer accounts across the region
- Stay informed on industry trends, HVAC regulations, and emerging technologies
- Collaborate internally with Technical Sales Engineers to share knowledge and best practices
- For senior‑level profiles, contribute to account planning and identify upsell and cross‑sell opportunities
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience within HVAC comfort applications, technical sales, or application engineering
- Strong understanding of how HVAC systems are applied within customer environments
- Experience supporting OEMs, installers, contractors, or end users
- Strong customer‑facing communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to provide remote technical support while also managing onsite customer engagement
- Fluent French language skills are essential
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience as an Application Engineer or Technical Sales Engineer
- Existing network within the French HVAC market
- Experience supporting strategic or high‑profile customers
- Ability to work autonomously in a field‑based environment
- Candidates located around Lyon are strongly preferred due to the concentration of key customers in the region
