To support our continued growth, the API Team Lead is looking for a Technical Project Engineer . This is a highly cross‑functional role at the intersection of full‑stack development, technical project management, and AI‑driven innovation.
Your Responsibilities: The Best of Both Worlds (Engineering & Project Leadership)
Reporting directly to the API Lead Developer, you will move beyond the role of an individual contributor to become a true technical facilitator within the team, while remaining actively involved in software development.
- Partner with the Lead Developer & Product Team: Participate in early discussions with Product Managers (PMs), gather business requirements upstream, and stay aligned with product priorities. You will be the key point of contact for translating business needs into technical solutions.
- Technical Facilitation & Project Scoping: Support the team during project planning. Analyze functional specifications, identify ambiguities and potential risks, validate implementation approaches with the Operations team, and help break projects down into well‑defined technical tasks.
- Hands‑on Software Development: Stay close to the code by actively contributing to feature development, maintenance, and refactoring. You'll work with our technology stack, including a high‑performance in‑house PHP framework and modern React web applications.
- Delivery Tracking: Monitor development progress as well as post‑development phases to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
- AI & LLM Transformation: As an AI enthusiast, you'll help integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into our engineering workflows, whether to improve developer productivity, automate documentation and specification generation, or streamline project tracking.
Requirements
- Education: Master's degree (or equivalent, MSc) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in software development.
- Technical Skills: Solid experience with PHP (and willingness to learn and work with a robust in‑house framework) as well as a good understanding of React for web development.
- Collaboration & Communication: You enjoy working with cross‑functional teams, including Product Managers, Developers, and Operations engineers. You are an effective communicator who can listen, ask the right questions, and explain technical concepts clearly.
- Analytical Mindset: When reviewing functional specifications, you naturally dig deeper, challenge assumptions, and identify potential technical pitfalls before implementation begins.
- Interest in AI & LLM: You already use tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or Claude in your daily workflow and are eager to leverage generative AI to improve both your own productivity and the team's overall efficiency.
