Location

Ariane Systems, part of Jonas Hospitality, is a global leader in self‑service guest arrival technology for hotels, delivering check‑in/out kiosks, web/mobile check‑in, key‑card encoding, and pre‑arrival guest communications. The company is building an AI‑assisted, specification‑driven Allegro cloud platform.

Position Overview

The Technical Product Owner transforms customer needs, product ideas, and integration requirements into rigorous, build‑ready specifications that eliminate rework and enable AI‑assisted delivery. The role is closer to a senior business analyst than a traditional product manager, emphasizing analysis, technical translation, and specification quality over roadmap ownership.

Job Responsibilities

• Requirements Analysis & Specification (core): elicit and analyze requirements from customers, internal stakeholders, and the CPO; write detailed, unambiguous functional and technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria; map current and target process and data flows; document edge cases, error states, and non‑functional requirements.
• Build‑Readiness for AI‑Assisted Delivery: produce specifications complete and precise enough to move into build and pass pre‑architecture design review; partner with senior developers to pressure‑test specs for buildability before architecture is locked; own specification quality as a measurable outcome.
• Feature & Integration Logic: understand new features end‑to‑end, specifying business logic, PMS integration methods, and matching logic on Ariane’s side; command the underlying PMS model to specify against it.
• Customer Engagement & Pilot Deployments: work directly with customers to understand their requirements, operating context and priorities; run and support pilot deployments of new features with customers; capture real‑world feedback and feed it back into the product.
• Quality & Validation: test features before release, design sharper test cases using business requirements, validate that delivered features are usable and true to the documented customer requirement.
• Documentation & Enablement: create and maintain rigorous, current product and integration documentation; prepare internal materials and brief support, deployment, and sales teams on delivered functionality.
• Collaboration: work in lockstep with the Chief Product Officer as direct manager; collaborate closely with the development team, a second Product Owner, support, deployment and customer‑success teams; engage external partners and integration vendors to ensure interoperability.

Job Qualifications

• Direct, hands‑on hospitality technology experience (e.g., corporate or IT side of a hotel group, or a role at a PMS or hospitality‑software vendor). This is a hard requirement.
• 3–5 years in a role built on understanding the hotel business and translating business needs into requirements (business analysis, product, systems analysis, hospitality IT/operations, or a PMS/vendor role).
• Deep understanding of the business is required; prior specification‑writing experience is not required.
• Aptitude and appetite for technical detail – willing to grow into APIs, integrations and data; technical depth is a plus.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
• Comfortable in an agile, iterative development environment.
• Strongly preferred: experience reasoning about APIs, data models and system behaviour; direct experience with PMS, payment or key‑card integrations (e.g., OracleOpera/OHIP); experience translating business needs into written requirements or specifications; experience with product/backlog tooling (AzureDevOps, Jira, Aha!, Confluence); bonus French language ability; experience with prototyping/design tools (e.g., Figma); interest in AI‑assisted delivery and emerging product tooling.
