Technical Operations Manager

WTS Energy is recruiting a Technical Manager(Operations, Strategy) for an international drilling services company delivering operational and technical solutions to the upstream oil & gas sector.

You will lead operational excellence initiatives, support business growth, and optimize asset performance across international operations.

Requirements

• Provide technical guidance on drilling equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and operational challenges.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of complex technical issues.
• Evaluate technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Review technical specifications and support engineering decisions.
• Develop and implement operational improvement strategies.
• Analyze operational and financial performance and identify growth opportunities.
• Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Drive cost optimization and productivity improvement programs.

Qualifications

• French language
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Electromechanical Engineering , or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in drilling, oilfield services, upstream oil & gas operations, industrial assets, or heavy infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems associated with drilling rigs, production facilities, rotating equipment, power generation, or industrial assets.
• Experience managing asset performance, maintenance strategies, CAPEX projects, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Exposure to commercial, strategic planning, and business development activities.
• International experience, preferably in Africa, Europe, or the Middle East.
