What You Would Get To Do

The Team Lead, Event Management will assume a key role within the organization by leading and motivating colleagues, demonstrating FIRST values and our client’s brand. The individual will ensure the project team delivers consistently exceptional service to clients through excellent project management and will deliver world‑class events that exceed client expectations. The Team Lead will represent the FIRST Solutions brand on‑site at a well‑known tech company. This position is ideal for a corporate event planner with experience managing and motivating team members.

Your Contributions

  • Coordinate staff assignments and workload for onsite and digital events
  • Review requests sent by the event intake team and confirm space, approvals and other pertinent information prior to assigning
  • Advise on planning and execution of events for designated high‑profile groups, overseeing larger‑scale events
  • Support and coordinate the delivery of events as needed
  • Handle event escalations
  • Manage monthly audit reports required by client and internal management
  • Partner with the client on various strategic initiatives and projects
  • Directly manage a team of direct reports
  • Develop, mentor and provide ongoing feedback to team members
  • Oversee team workload, ensuring day‑to‑day capacity understanding and offer guidance on events when required
  • Manage vacation schedules to ensure coverage and review expense reports
  • Oversee onboarding and off‑boarding processes for all employees
  • Ensure team adheres to SOPs and compliance processes
  • Promote communications to all team members for maximum efficiency
  • Partner with FIRST People & Culture on recruiting and employee relations matters
  • Maintain positive client relationships
  • Continuously deliver value to clients and seek value‑adds where possible
  • Encourage the team to be knowledgeable of best practices, services and proactive with ideas and creative solutions

What We Are Looking For

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including proven events‑focused roles
  • Strong people‑management skills with a lead‑by‑example approach
  • Willingness to travel to multiple campuses as required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels
  • Decision maker and problem solver with a collaborative, team‑player attitude
  • Positive, caring approach to team management
  • Experience working cross‑functionally with stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment
  • Creative problem solver, resourceful, team player
  • Adaptable to changing demands
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks against strict deadlines
  • Excellent time‑management and multi‑tasking skills
  • Ambitious and proactive with a calm, flexible approach to pressure
  • Experience managing large and complex databases
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Responsible for own environment and adherence to health and safety policies
  • Build excellent relationships with team through positive communications and knowledge sharing
  • Work on ad‑hoc client requests as required
