Job Description

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Systems Functional Architect (f/m) to join the Systems Design Methods & Tools team based in Toulouse, France.

Responsibilities

• Translate Aircraft System Designers’ needs into functional requirements and rapidly prototype high‑value, viable technical solutions.
• Industrialize prototypes by collaborating with IS/IT partners (Cybersecurity, Data governance) to deliver secure‑by‑design, compliant, and cost‑efficient final solutions.
• Define and maintain the long‑term consistency and evolution roadmap for solutions based on evolving aircraft design needs and industry digital standards.
• Conduct structured trade‑off analyses between available technological options to establish a logical, value‑driven basis for all design decisions.
• Champion the adoption of new, data‑driven methodologies, ensuring users benefit from the latest state‑of‑the‑art means in their daily work.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 8‑10 years of professional experience in Functional Architecture, IT Development, or Systems Engineering.
• Experience designing and implementing multi‑tool solutions.
• Ability to model data and business activities using an enterprise architecture framework (e.g., Archimate3).
• Proven ability to quickly build working models for needs interpretation and solution assessment.
• Strong knowledge of secure development practices and an uncompromising mindset on compliance standards.
• Beginner level knowledge of data analysis principles.
• Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
