Systems Architect

Role Summary

This exciting opportunity has arisen as part of our Client's strategic expansion in satellite systems development. The role is vital for ensuring the successful technical and operational qualification of complex satellite systems. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in designing and executing comprehensive system test campaigns, shaping operational procedures, and ensuring seamless integration of ground station and mission control components. This position offers a unique chance to contribute to pioneering satellite projects that push the boundaries of space communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test scenarios and configurations for full system validation, including satellites, control centres, ground stations, and mission centres.
• Create and refine comprehensive test plans and procedures, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Lead and coordinate the execution of system testing, including performing tests and analysing results.
• Investigate and debug test outcomes, proposing enhancements to operational workflows and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including project engineers, avionics specialists, and operations personnel.
• Document test reports, issue resolution processes, and recommendations for operational improvements.
• Assist in deriving system specifications and requirement management to support system optimisation efforts.
• Drive quality assurance and compliance activities related to system and operational standards.
• Proven experience with satellite operations and full system architecture design.
• Strong understanding of communication protocols, notably PUS (Packet Utilization Standard).
• Extensive experience in establishing operational protocols and control & command procedures for satellite systems.
• Ability to develop detailed and practical test scenarios, execute test campaigns, and analyse complex data.
• Demonstrated capability in requirement management, procedure writing, and problem resolution.
• Experience working closely within cross-functional engineering teams, with leadership qualities to drive testing activities.
• Immediate availability or readiness to commence within 2-3 weeks.
• Prior experience in space systems validation, ground control, or similar high-reliability environments.
• Familiarity with satellite hardware interfaces and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of post-test review processes and operational procedure evolution.
• Certification or background in systems engineering or quality assurance standards applicable to aerospace.
