System Test Engineer Trainee – Brake Systems Validation

Overview

ASTEMO, LTD. is a major actor in the brake development market. At Astemo, several innovative braking systems are developed for international automotive industries. As part of the autonomous vehicle development program, the testing department is developing tools and methods to validate the Automatic Parking Brake (APB) at software and system level.

Your goal is to conduct system studies and evaluate the proposed solutions in terms of robustness and performance.

Several topics can be conducted during this internship.

Topics and responsibilities

1. Stroke sensor study
   • State of the art
   • Perform robustness, performance tests and Repeatability tests on several brake types
   • Test analysis: dispersion, repeatability, accuracy, etc. : propose several approaches
   • Provide complete documentation
   • If product performance is confirmed, provide complete documentation and working instructions
2. Voltage fluctuation
   • State of the art
   • Benchmark of available products
   • Conduct study with actual material
   • Perform robustness, performance tests and Repeatability with several voltage profiles
   • Evaluate the impact on the software robustness to voltage fluctuation
   • Test analysis: dispersion, repeatability, accuracy, etc. : propose several approaches
   • Provide complete documentation
3. Impedance variation
   • State of the art
   • Evaluate the possibility to change the impedance value during the tests
   • Propose solution to make this variation possible (mechanical, software, etc.)
   • Conduct a benchmark study to propose a solution
   • Perform tests to confirm the use of this new material
   • Provide documentation
