Job Description

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a System Safety Engineer to support the Aircraft Development Safety team in Getafe, Spain, with the primary location in Toulouse, France. The role involves ensuring compliance with international safety and airworthiness standards for advanced military aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive System Safety Assessment (SSA) activities across all development phases; conduct systematic examinations of system functions to identify and classify potential failure conditions, and perform advanced safety analyses including Common‑Cause Analysis, Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis, and Common Mode Analysis.
  • Define and architect complex System Safety requirements, manage safety requirements at the interfaces between interacting systems, and act as a key technical consultant for domains such as maintenance, human factors, aircraft performance, structures, and quality.
  • Drive the certification process by providing expert technical evidence, defending safety arguments before Airworthiness Authorities, performing risk analyses for Continuous Airworthiness, and reviewing supplier data relating to Safety and Reliability.

Qualifications

  • Strong technical foundation in Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in System Engineering with a focus on interface management, safety assessment, airworthiness, or certification processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with specialized Safety Tools (e.g., Isograph FaultTree+).
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment, solve complex non‑routine technical problems, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Security clearance required or eligibility for clearance by recognized authorities.
