Position
System Designer for future Integrated Modular Avionic (IMA) Avionics Platform (M/F)
Summary
As part of the Avionics Platforms team, you will drive the technical design and definition of the future generation of Integrated Modular Avionic (IMA) computers within Airbus next-generation system architecture (DAL-A) for Next Generation Single Aisle.
Responsibilities
- Support TRL reviews and de‑risking activities to evaluate the feasibility of future platform architectures in a safety‑critical context.
- Define high‑level requirements for the core processing perimeter focusing on hardware virtualization and interface with A653 RTOS solutions.
- Act as the technical counterpart for potential future suppliers during research and pre‑development phases.
- Ensure early‑stage designs meet applicable standards (ARP4754, DO‑254, DO‑178C (DAL‑A)) and initiate V&V and certification strategies.
- Nurture technical dossiers required for eventual launch of full‑scale development within a 3‑5 year horizon.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years experience with a strong foundation in electronics, hardware, software, and A/C systems engineering.
- Knowledge of modern avionics platform architectures.
- Experience with hardware and software development constraints; familiarity with DO‑178, DO‑254, ARP4754.
- Systems mindset: ability to define requirements at system level while leaving implementation details to suppliers.
- Knowledge of ARINC 653 concepts and constraints of commercial real‑time operating systems.
- Good communication and stakeholder management; excellent technical writing skills in English.
