Respiratory Supervisor , Cardiopulmonary Services
Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary
Supervises clinical staff in conjunction with performing clinician duties in a role model methodology.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates daily work assignments and prepares schedule for clinical staff.
- Monitors staffing of each shift to ensure adequate number of personnel are scheduled to provide patient care.
- Assists with collection of quality assurance data.
- Provides direct communication to staff and management.
- Available to clinical staff as consultant and resource person.
- Evaluates patients as related to therapy; communicates results to other therapists, nursing staff and physicians when evaluation indicates need for change in treatment.
- Assumes responsibility of mentoring respiratory staff and orientation of new employees on shift worked.
- In conjunction with necessary departments, coordinate clinical competence of all personnel performing respiratory care procedures.
- Performs assigned tasks and uses equipment with skill and accuracy.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Conducts in-service education under the direction of the manager.
- Provide personnel management to include staff placement, discipline, interviewing and orientation in conjunction with the Manager. Assist with performance appraisals and goal setting.
- Assists with monitoring and maintaining department compliance to meet all regulatory agency requirements.
- Act as a liaison to patients and other customers to provide timely and accurate communication and problem resolution.
- Collaborates with the Manager / Director to identify learning needs of staff, ensure participation and evaluate clinical competency.
- Collaborate with others to determine product standardization as needed.
- Assists with daily operations including: interdisciplinary meetings, department statistics, payroll, charges, and supply / equipment inventory.
- Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience
A minimum of three (3) years' clinical experience.
Licensure Requirement
Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with ABG endorsement, and valid RRT credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care is required.
