Supplier Development Manager (m/f)
Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Supplier Development Manager (f/m) to join our Supplier Development Department based in Toulouse, France. This team is responsible for shaping the future of Space Systems supply-base.
Responsibilities
- Improve and develop supplier performance by providing expert support at supplier sites, covering end-to-end processes and using continuous improvement methodologies.
- Develop the supply chain to the appropriate maturity level to support suppliers and ensure OQOTOC performance.
- Identify supplier weaknesses, capabilities, capacities, areas of improvement and development to improve supply chain maturity and robustness.
- Prepare mission statements and establish relevant objectives, targets and corrective, improvement and development action plans with supply chain stakeholders.
- Perform industrial maturity or capacity assessments.
- Drive the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, problem solving, knowledge sharing) and related tools at supplier sites.
- Manage suppliers and report regularly on action plan and development plan achievements.
- Support the supply chain operation team for recovery plans on critical issues to ensure supplier performance targets are achieved.
- Anticipate recurring supplier quality issues and initiate preventive measures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, engineering, quality or manufacturing, with exposure to supplier assessment or audits.
- Knowledge of APQP standards, statistical process control, control plans, PFMEA, capability studies, measurement system analysis, APICS basics, production and inventory management.
- Experience with Six Sigma, DMAIC, 8D (9S, PPS) and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Black Belt or equivalent accreditation strongly appreciated.
- Statistical data analysis skills (comparative methods, hypothesis testing, design of experiments).
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and empathy.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to persuade, influence and convince.
- Excellent relationship building, team building, empowering, motivating and conflict management skills.
- Proficiency in English, additional languages a plus.
- Knowledge of procurement IT tools a benefit.
- Security clearance required or eligibility for one.
