Job Description
Role Purpose
Plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the availability, reliability, safety, and continuity of operations at the mining site. The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor ensures the proper execution of preventive, corrective, and improvement maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment as well as service vehicles. They support technicians on complex interventions, follow up on technical activities, and contribute to operational continuity while remaining hands‑on when required to maintain service levels.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of all maintenance activities and personnel
- Coordinate and supervise daily mechanical maintenance operations
- Perform or provide technical support during mechanical and electrical interventions
- Plan, monitor, and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Ensure proper execution and traceability of maintenance work orders in CMMS systems
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and equipment reliability
- Coach, train, and support maintenance technicians
- Act as a key interface between maintenance, production, and external contractors
About you
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in quarries or heavy industry
- Initial experience in team coordination or supervision is an advantage
- Strong hands‑on background in mechanical maintenance (hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge required)
- Technical qualification from vocational diploma to 2‑year degree in maintenance, electromechanics, mechanical engineering, or industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read technical drawings and use diagnostic tools
- Experience with CMMS systems (SAP, Mendix, or equivalent)
- Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and leadership skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with production and external partners
