Structural Equipment Calculation Engineer - Steel Structures M/F

Location: Guyancourt, France | Contract: Permanent | Headquarters: Bouygues Bâtiment International | Work mode: Hybrid (Remote/Onsite)

Based at the headquarters in Guyancourt, within the Steel Structure competence center of the central engineering department, you specialise in calculating the equipment required for the execution of construction projects in France and abroad. You will serve as a steel structure specialist responsible for a wide range of analytical and design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies and preliminary structural sizing to prepare cost estimates.
• Propose design solutions that account for manufacturing constraints and erection aspects, in alignment with all trades.
• Draft execution calculation notes and assumption notes.
• Provide the designer with the necessary information for the preparation of execution drawings.
• Propose improvement actions concerning safety, ergonomics, productivity, and environmental performance.
• Anticipate and raise alerts on unresolved technical issues.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent (BTS, DUT, etc.) with at least 3 years experience in steel structures, preferably in a specialised company.
• Strong knowledge of preliminary sizing calculations and technical optimisation.
• Familiarity with technical and regulatory standards for steel structures, drawing rules, construction methods, and EN NF 1090-2.
• Practical knowledge of CAD and structural analysis software (Autocad, Revit, SCIA, ROBOT, Idea Statica or similar) and Microsoft Office suite.
• Category B driving licence.
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.
• Good command of English is an asset.

Travel & Working Environment

Regular travel is expected between Guyancourt and the equipment base in Chilly-Mazarin, with occasional trips abroad or within France. The role offers an international work setting, opportunities for professional development, mobility, and flexible work organisation.
