Structural Building Engineer – France (06) – 6 Months

D.C.A.I. is recruiting a Structural Building Engineer to support a leading international engineering consultancy on a variety of building projects across the French Riviera and Monaco.

The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary engineering team involved in the design, analysis and execution of complex building structures in a demanding technical environment.

Structural Design

• Perform structural engineering studies during all project phases:
  • Concept Design (ESQ)
  • Preliminary Design (APS/APD)
  • Detailed Design (PRO/DCE)
• Define structural concepts adapted to project requirements.
• Produce structural calculations and design assumptions.
• Participate in technical and economic design decisions.

Detailed Engineering

• Prepare or validate structural calculation reports.
• Supervise the production of structural drawings.
• Review formwork, reinforcement and detailing drawings.

Technical Coordination

• Participate in technical meetings with architects, consultants and contractors.
• Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical support during construction (VISA reviews, occasional site assistance).
• Review and validate technical proposals submitted by contractors.

Technical Leadership

• Supervise one or more structural designers/drafters.
• Ensure the quality of engineering deliverables.
• Monitor project schedules and engineering budgets.

Profile :

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a structural engineering consultancy (10+ years appreciated).
• Proven experience in both design and execution studies .
• Experience with steel structures (timber structures are considered an advantage).
• Good knowledge of Eurocodes and French structural regulations.
• Experience on residential, commercial and complex building projects.
• Robot Structural Analysis, Graitec, SCIA Engineer or equivalent.
• Revit (reading and coordination).
• AutoCAD.
• Structural calculations.
• Technical coordination within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
