Job Description
Vallourec is looking for a Strategic Project Manager to join its headquarters in Meudon (Paris, France). As part of the team responsible for the Group's strategic transformation, the Strategic Project Manager will contribute to the definition and execution of key strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing Vallourec's performance, competitiveness, and long‑term growth.
Position Context
As Vallourec continues to transform and strengthen its global operations, the Strategic Project Manager will play a key role in supporting both the development of the Group's strategic plan and the execution of major transformation programs. The position offers exposure to a broad range of strategic and operational topics, requiring close collaboration with business leaders, corporate functions, and operational teams across the organization. Projects may range from long‑term strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives to cross‑functional transformation programs involving commercial, industrial, supply chain, logistics, and finance activities.
Main Responsibilities
Contribute to the Group's Strategic Planning
- Support the development of the Group's medium‑ and long‑term strategic plans.
- Conduct market, competitive, and business performance analyses.
- Develop business cases and strategic recommendations.
- Prepare executive‑level presentations and decision‑making materials.
- Contribute to the definition and monitoring of the Group's strategic roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to create value and improve performance.
Lead Strategic and Transformation Projects
- Support the design and implementation of strategic transformation initiatives across the Group.
- Structure and manage projects from planning through execution.
- Coordinate stakeholders across multiple functions and geographies.
- Facilitate governance meetings and steering committees.
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Monitor KPIs and assess project impact and value creation.
Support Business and Operational Teams
- Work closely with industrial, commercial, supply chain, logistics, finance, and corporate teams.
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Challenge current ways of working and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Support change management efforts and drive stakeholder engagement.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with regional, business, and corporate stakeholders.
- Foster collaboration across the organization.
- Ensure alignment between strategic objectives and operational execution.
- Navigate effectively within a complex and international environment.
Profile
- Master's degree from a leading Engineering School, Business School, or equivalent.
- Ideally 5 to 10 years of professional experience in top‑tier strategy consulting (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Roland Berger, Oliver Wyman, Kearney, Strategy\&, EY‑Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte) or in a Corporate Strategy / Transformation function within a large international organization.
- Previous experience in an international industrial environment is a strong advantage.
- Fluent English is mandatory. French is a plus.
