About the Role
AESC is seeking a highly skilled communications and government relations executive to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a pivotal role in managing and executing the company’s European Union (EU) communications and government affairs strategy, overseeing local PR and GR team members and consulting firms engaged in communications strategy and government relations strategy within markets where AESC operates and in Europe - France, Spain and UK. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications and public policy.
This role will report to AESC’s Chief Communications Officer.
What You Will Do
Oversee Regional Communications: Manage PR and GR teams in Spain, France, and the U.K., implementing local communications and public affairs strategies, and coordinate strategy and activities with corporate partners with interests before the EU.
Vendor Management: Manage several vendor relationships to support AESC’s public affairs strategies.
Executive Communications: Work closely with global and plant executives through media training, media appearances, and presentations at industry trade shows and public policy engagement.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including plant management, HR, ESG, legal, corporate planning and other AESC teams.
What You Need
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in corporate, government, public policy, or related communications, government relations or advocacy.
Expertise: Deep background of managing and executing government relations and communications strategy in regulated industries.
Skills:
Excellent writing skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Fluency in English, French and Spanish is an advantage.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Business-minded approach with the ability to understand and contribute to the company's strategic goals.
High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Mature and composed demeanor, ability to operate in an environment with fast-paced demands and routine changes to circumstances.
Nice to Have
Industry Experience: Previous experience in the electric vehicle, battery manufacturing, energy or technology sectors.
Project Management Skills: Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
Cultural Awareness: Experience working in a multicultural and international environment.
Start-up Experience: Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
Travel
Occasional domestic and international travel required.
