Statistical Project Manager

The ESC is currently looking for a Statistical Project Manager for a permanent contract, CDI, as soon as possible to work at its headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.

Major duties and responsibilities: Lead and coordinate all statistical activities related to ESC Registries, ensuring the quality, integrity, and scientific validity of data, analyses, and publications. Act as the primary statistical expert for committees, cardiologists, sponsors, and internal stakeholders, providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and review statistical analysis plans, analyses, and scientific publications. Oversee external statistical providers, including deliverables, timelines, and budgets. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures, quality standards, and operational processes within the Registries Department.

Lead and coordinate all statistical activities related to ESC Registries , ensuring the quality, integrity, and scientific validity of data, analyses, and publications. Provide expert statistical guidance throughout the lifecycle of registry projects, from study design and Statistical Analysis Plans to data analysis, reporting, and scientific dissemination.

Act as the key statistical partner for Registry Committees, investigators, sponsors, and ESC stakeholders, supporting evidence-based decision-making and high-quality research outputs.

Manage external statistical providers and associated budgets , ensuring the timely delivery of services, compliance with quality standards, and effective oversight of contracts, deliverables, timelines, and costs.

Drive continuous improvement within the Registries Department by developing statistical standards, enhancing operational processes, promoting innovation, and contributing to data science and clinical informatics initiatives.

Profile

• Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Epidemiology, Public Health, Mathematics, Biomedical Sciences, or a related quantitative discipline, with at least 10 years of relevant experience; or PhD with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in biostatistics, statistical programming, clinical or observational research, registry-based studies, or real-world evidence projects.
• Experience working within an international scientific, academic, pharmaceutical, contract research organisation, or healthcare environment would be an advantage.
• Advanced expertise in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and observational research methodologies.
• Strong proficiency in SAS and R programming for statistical analysis and data management.
• Proven experience in clinical research, patient registries, and real-world evidence studies.
• Solid knowledge of Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), advanced statistical modelling, survival analyses, and scientific publication processes.
• Experience with healthcare databases and data quality assurance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and scientific communication skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex statistical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively with clinicians, researchers, sponsors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented, quality-focused, and committed to scientific excellence.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently while fostering teamwork.
• High level of professional integrity, reliability, and accountability.

Contract:

· Permanent contract based in Sophia-Antipolis

· French labour law provisions

Conditions:

- Fixed salary + 13th month and vacation bonus (1%)

- Possibility of teleworking up to 3 days a week, after two months' integration at ESC + fixed daily allowance
