Mission, Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, industrialise and optimise stamping tools processes to ensure performance, quality and competitiveness of production systems.
- Oversee stamping tools from concept definition to start of production at the plant.
- Process Development – Analyse and validate product/process feasibility for stamped parts and support the product development team.
- Define tooling concepts for sheet‑metal forming to achieve tooling performance.
- Ensure feasibility assessment for stamping parts using stamping simulation (AUTOFORM).
- Support the acquisition team (design‑to‑cost) and validate tooling concepts of external stamping suppliers.
- Industrialisation – Define tool specifications, launch and lead RFQs, and manage tool suppliers from the design phase to final validation (worldwide).
- Manage all validation steps (strip layout, studies, construction, reception at supplier sites and Forvia plants).
- Define and enforce compliance with programme targets (cost, quality, cycle time, etc.) and develop action plans to meet them with external and internal resources.
- Production Launch – Lead tools installation and commissioning in the Forvia plant (Europe) until full process validation.
- Train plant teams and support the start of production.
- Contribute to achieving run‑@‑rate targets.
- Continuous Improvement – Optimise tool performance (cycle time, OEE, cost, etc.) and continuously improve processes.
- Capitalize on and deploy best practices across the organisation.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in stamping manufacturing and development (tool shop).
- Strong mechanical knowledge.
- Experience with simulation tools (Autoform and CATIA).
- Ability to learn on the fly and work in shop‑floor environments.
- Effective communication skills in English within a multicultural environment.
- Willingness to travel worldwide (20‑30% of the time).
