STAGE - Women/Men Merchandising & Buying Retail EMEI
The internship starts in July and is for a six-month duration.
Fluency in French and English is required.
Overview and purpose of role
As a Merchandising and Buying Assistant at Christian Louboutin, you will be part of the Women or Men’s Retail EMEI Merchandising & Buying team. In this role, you will join the Women or Men’s Universe (Shoes & Leathergoods) as a key support function to the team, managing daily tasks as well as larger cross‑functional projects, working hand in hand with other departments (Central Merchandising, VM, etc.) and stores.
Women’s Merchandising and Buying Assistant will also support the Merchandisers in charge of Kids in all related tasks. Men’s Merchandising and Buying Assistant will also support the Merchandisers in charge of Beauty and Eyewear in all related tasks.
Your main missions will be to:
- Follow up and analyse the business and competitive environment to suggest actions to improve collection performance
- Participate actively in the buying sessions
Key Responsibilities of the role
Buying responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation of the buying session: analysis of past performance to build the new season’s buying strategy, product selection by cluster and collection presentation to store directors.
- Assist the buyers during the buying session: assortment reviews with stores, product mappings, buying session wrap ups, order entry in the buying tool…
Merchandising responsibilities
- Assist the Buying and Merchandising team with product sales analysis for the EMEI region.
- Support VIC requests and execute stock consolidations to maximise turnover and sell through in each category, avoiding missed opportunities.
- Conduct competitive analysis on targeted topics.
- Follow‑up deliveries and update delivery reports.
- Help with daily stock allocations and replenishments.
- Support business needs during events and store openings.
Beauty & Eyewear (under Men’s team only)
- Assist the Buyer with product sales analysis for the EMEI region.
- Support with the monthly replenishment and product launches.
- Support orders and/or stock consolidations for events.
Skills and Requirements
In order to deliver the main responsibilities of the role, you will need the following skills:
Technical
- BAC +5 / Master level within a Business or Engineering School
- A first experience in Retail or Merchandising is a plus
- Strong Excel skills and analytical mindset
- Fluent in French and English
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and willing to perform varied tasks depending on the needs of the business. Proactive, dynamic and have a willingness to learn and develop.
- Motivated and committed with a ‘can do’ positive attitude: able to meet the demands with high energy level.
- Adaptable and flexible: must be comfortable with change and willing to adapt as required to the needs of the business.
- Effective time management skills: must be punctual and reliable, able to perform tasks within the required timeframes.
- Strong interest in fashion and product sensitivity.
- Strong communication skills, able to clearly explain their findings and pose relevant questions.
- Open‑minded to diversity internally and externally – ready to work with different people and to serve different types of customers with respect and without bias.
- Passionate about their own career development and self‑aware of areas of improvement.
