Job Overview
Saint‑Gobain Research Provence, the group’s most specialised R&D centre in the ceramics domain, is looking for a trainee to work on the development of a new non‑destructive testing (NDT) technique based on ultrasonic propagation and its application to refractory materials. The project will involve the creation of an experimental device, the implementation of digital tools for post‑processing, and the evaluation of the method’s defect detection potential for industrial use.
Responsibilities
- Develop a new experimental device for ultrasonic application.
- Set up digital tools for post‑processing.
- Conduct preliminary tests on candidate samples.
- Evaluate defect detection potential and the limits of the proposed method for industrial application.
Qualifications
- Current final‑year engineering student specialising in materials, mechanics or NDE.
- Good level of English.
- Proficiency in Python and Matlab.
- Mastery of the Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience or skills in signal analysis is a plus.
- A strong experimental mindset, scientific curiosity and teamwork skills.
