Overview

FreshfieldsLLP is an Anglo‑Saxon business law firm established in Paris for more than 50years, renowned worldwide, with about 130 lawyers in France. The firm offers a wide range of services in business law both in Paris and internationally, supporting large companies and governments with strategic transactions and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Handle a broad spectrum of personnel‑law matters with the People and Reward team, including hiring and departure of senior executives and managers.
• Provide day‑to‑day advice to HR and Legal departments and establish and manage relationships with staff representative bodies.
• Drafter collective agreements (working hours, employee savings schemes, etc.) and support complex social restructurings such as M&A and collective redundancy plans, including in an international context.
• Assist with litigation before labour courts, district courts and appellate courts.
• Conduct legal research, draft expert opinions, executive summaries, contracts, memoranda, and pleadings covering individual, collective and electoral litigation.
• Prepare client‑advice emails, events, newsletters and presentation materials on legal news in the field.
• Work in both French and English; collaborate with other Paris departments (litigation, corporate, antitrust) and international offices.

Qualifications

• Student or current Master2 in labour law, or a diploma from an institute of political studies or business school with a labour‑law background.
• Analytical mind with strong synthesis skills.
• Rigorous and organised.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to clarify and share information.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in French and English.
• Team spirit and collaborative approach.
