Technical Stack

Responsibilities
- Define and evolve Matera's backend architecture over the long term (modularisation, design system, performance, clean architecture, DDD).
- Identify current technical limits, propose solutions, and implement them with the team.
- Initiate and lead high‑impact tech or product projects.
- Establish and promote backend coding standards across all squads.
- Improve the Developer Experience: AI adoption, tooling, CI, testing strategy, documentation.
- Mentor developers of all levels and raise the collective skill level.
- Contribute to the overall technical vision alongside the CTO and other Staff.
Qualifications
- 8+ years as a Software Engineer with a strong backend focus and expertise in Ruby on Rails.
- Comfortable with DevOps and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Full‑stack experience to manage projects end‑to‑end.
- Technical leadership capable of defining vision and rallying the team.
- Deep understanding of application performance, database, and infrastructure issues.
- Active use of AI in work methods, continuously experimenting to improve efficiency.
- Strong product appetite and obsession for delivering the best user experience.
