We are hiring on behalf of our client, the largest ecosystem builder on a leading decentralized perpetual exchange, currently building the next generation of DeFi trading. Their mission is to democratize access to global financial markets—including crypto, equities, and commodities—by leveraging decentralized technology. To date, their platform has processed $65B+ in cumulative trading volume, generated eight figures in revenue, and supports over 400,000 registered traders.

They are a small, elite team of individual contributors that value autonomy, ownership, and rapid execution. They are looking for a Staff Mobile Engineer who views React Native as a craft. You will sit at the intersection of engineering, design, and product, turning raw speed into a premium mobile experience that feels intentional and indistinguishable from a native app.

Key Responsibilities

• Set Direction: Drive the technical and experiential roadmap for their mobile platform
• High-Performance UI: Develop elegant React Native interfaces for real-time trading, analytics, and social features
• Motion & Polish: Implement fluid animations, expressive gestures, and tactile feedback using Reanimated and Gesture Handler
• System Architecture: Design a resilient real-time data layer using TypeScript to handle WebSockets and connectivity changes gracefully
• Native Bridging: Unlock advanced platform capabilities or UI primitives by bridging native modules where JavaScript falls short
• Collaboration: Partner with backend engineers to design bandwidth-efficient APIs and optimize data flows for mobile

• Technical Assignment: A practical demonstration of your coding and UI/UX skills
• Final Interview: Deep dive into technical architecture and team fit

Requirements

They are looking for a 0-to-1 engineer who thrives in low-process, high-trust environments.

• Experience: 5+ years of shipping production-grade React Native applications using TypeScript
• Animation Mastery: Deep hands-on experience with React Native Reanimated and React Native Gesture Handler
• Visual Flair: Experience with Shopify React Native Skia or similar low-level rendering tools for custom charts and visuals
• Performance Expertise: Proven ability to maintain 60 FPS experiences across complex animated lists and real-time data views
• Platform Knowledge: Strong understanding of iOS and Android layout, motion, and interaction nuances
• Product Mindset: Experience owning features end-to-end—from initial prototype to App Store/Play Store release
• Tooling: Familiarity with profiling using Flipper, Xcode Instruments, or Android Studio

Bonus Points

• Native experience in Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin
• Background in highly interactive consumer products (fintech/trading apps, games, or creative tools)
• Open-source contributions to the React Native ecosystem
