Job Description

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong computer science fundamentals (CS degree or equivalent experience)
• Experience working on SaaS products, ideally with usage at scale
• Proficient in Ruby , Rust , or Java (bonus for more than one)
• Comfortable with SQL and backend performance optimization
• Familiar with data engineering concepts and tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Snowflake, etc.)
• Curious, autonomous, and pragmatic
• You've previously helped design or scale a modern data stack
• You've worked in a fast-paced startup environment or as a founding engineer
• You care about product and user experience, not just backend code

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services that power our event ingestion, transformation, and querying engine
• Contribute to our internal data engine and columnar storage architecture (think DuckDB / ClickHouse / Trino / Iceberg)
• Collaborate closely on product definition and shape the technical roadmap
• Establish a robust backend stack that can scale as we grow
