About Dioxycle

Dioxycle is pioneering breakthrough carbon utilization technologies that convert industrial emissions into sustainable chemicals with unprecedented energy and cost efficiency. By displacing fossil fuels for the production of key chemicals, we have the potential to ultimately reduce 800 million tons of CO2 per year , representing over 2% of the world's emissions.

Our core process is a novel carbon electrolyzer that uses only electricity and water to convert carbon emissions back into valuable everyday chemicals. We are innovating across chemical, mechanical, and system engineering to make carbon transformation an economically viable, industrial reality. After completing our industrial‑scale prototype, we are now working with chemical and downstream offtakers toward first‑of‑a‑kind plant deployment and subsequent commercial roll‑out.

Location & Position

Role Overview

We are seeking a Stack Design Engineer to join our design team. The role focuses on end‑to‑end development of our electrolyzer stacks, bridging mechanical design, breakthrough electrochemistry, and manufacturing. You will take concepts from CAD to physical reality, iterate rapidly, and have full ownership of a core technology component.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design new electrolyzer stacks using CAD software, from early concept to detailed drawings
  • Dimension and validate components (manifolds, bipolar plates, sealing systems, compression systems) using theoretical calculations and computational simulations
  • Own innovative product design initiatives in close collaboration with the stack, chemistry, and scale‑up teams
  • Lead manufacturing planning, procurement, and supplier relationships for your stack product

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in mechanical design engineering
  • Experience in electrolyzer stack design, such as from hydrogen electrolysis or chlor‑alkali electrolysis
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer‑aided design (CAD)
  • Solid theoretical knowledge in fluid mechanics, thermal management, and solid mechanics (compression, material resistance)
  • Solid experience in Product Lifecycle Management for design documentation and revisioning
  • Good knowledge of suppliers for electrolyzer components, such as bipolar plate manufacturing
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience in electrolyzer mechanical design
  • English is our daily work language

Mindset

  • Exemplary work ethic and self‑driven attitude: you get things done fast and to a high standard and you don’t drop the ball
  • Street‑smart: you don’t take no for an answer and will figure out a way to solve anything with the means available
  • Commitment to the mission and ambition to create a kind, high‑performance, and fun atmosphere at work (100% on‑site role)
  • Passion for innovation and problem‑solving attitude
  • Dedication to investing time and effort for the betterment of the team
  • Going the extra 20% that turns a good deliverable into an outstanding one
  • Humble, low‑ego, and curious

Benefits

  • Unique journey at an early‑stage company with a world‑class team and a flat structure
  • Impact: building a product that will reshape century‑old industrial processes for a more sustainable world
  • People‑first culture—highly collaborative and supportive environment
  • Feedback over ego: continuous self‑improvement while helping others grow
  • International team with over 17 nationalities
  • Fun: regular team events and a great work atmosphere
  • Competitive compensation packages
