Position Overview

To identify and implement sustainability best practices, projects and training for the Ball Packaging plants in Europe, Middle East and Asia. This role is tasked with successfully achieving divisional goals related to Sustainability KPIs through the use of Control Devices for efficient Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation processes.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Identified as a Senior Engineer/Subject Matter Expert (SME) with regards to Can-Making and Facilities Equipment, Controls Devices and Line Control Program Language used in a Can-Making Plant.
  • Creates / Understands / Implements the Global Standards that lead to the best-in-class Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation.
  • Supports Global Sustainability Engineering stakeholders in the pursuit and adoption of best-in-class Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation Global Standards.
  • Trains Employees on process steps and best practices with regards to the efficient use of Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge and utilization of Lean Six Sigma in all phases of the implementation of Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation Global Standards.
  • Develops / Plans / Executes capital projects that support the implementation of Electricity, Natural Gas, Water and Waste-Generation Global Standards.
  • Converts guidance and data from Global Sustainability Engineering into Strategy and Action Plans for the EMEA region.
  • Collaborates with supply base to identify new sustainability technologies; feeding new information to the Global Sustainability Engineering group for consideration in the Global Standards.

Experience And Skills Required

  • University level degree or work-related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within high speed packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Excellent English communication skills - verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of contracts and specifications.
  • Excellent program/project management skills.
  • Financial literacy and business acumen with the ability to objectively assess projects and teams and meet cost, margin, and profitability targets.
  • Willing and able to travel 60% to 80% of working time.

Work environment

This position based in France supports central functions and offers flexible working arrangements, including hybrid or fully remote options, subject to job requirements and manager approval.

Salary range

€47,250 – €68,040 gross per year. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market benchmarks. Depending on these factors, the actual offer may be above or below the stated range.

This position is eligible to participate in Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
