We are seeking a customer‑obsessed builder with deep expertise in enterprise migration and modernization. The Senior Migration & Modernization Specialist Solutions Architect will work within the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) of the Automotive & Manufacturing team to drive the migration of critical workloads onto AWS. This senior individual‑contributor role requires deep technical expertise in storage, application modernization, and infrastructure migration—including data center exits.

Core Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business development colleagues to provide technical input into migration GTM strategy and support field marketing through technical events, campaigns, and customer engagements
• Lead complex migration problem solving to unblock customers’ most critical data‑center exit and modernization initiatives
• Design and execute migration strategies for storage systems (including AWS Backup, FSx, EFS, S3), application workloads (including VMware, Microsoft workloads, containerization), and infrastructure (including network, security, and compute)
• Represent the voice of the customer and collaborate with field and central teams to bring migration feedback to product teams
• Act as a thought leader in Migration & Modernization by sharing best practices through AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, migration patterns, and public speaking engagements such as AWS Summits and AWS re:Invent
• Guide and support an internal AWS community of technical subject‑matter experts aligned to your customers, including the creation of field enablement materials for the broader Solution Architect population
• Partner with AWS Migration Competency Partners and ISVs to deliver comprehensive migration solutions

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure, migration, or modernization roles
• Deep expertise in storage technologies and migration strategies (SAN, NAS, object storage, backup/recovery systems)
• Strong experience with application modernization patterns including containerization, microservices, and refactoring strategies
• Proven track record in large‑scale infrastructure migration projects including data‑center exits
• Hands‑on experience with VMware to AWS migrations (VMware Cloud on AWS, native AWS migrations)
• Experience with database migration strategies and tools (DMS, SCT, native migration approaches)
• Strong understanding of infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
• Experience in customer‑facing roles such as pre‑sales, consulting, or technical account management
• Fluent English (written and spoken) required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with large enterprises in the Automotive and Manufacturing industries
• AWS certifications strongly preferred (Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking, Security, Database, or Migration specialty)
• Experience with migration assessment tools and TCO analysis
• Strong preference for experience in technical pre‑sales or customer‑facing architecture roles
• German and/or French language skills
